McDonald’s – 140 Av. des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris, France

Bonjour, In this burger review I have decided to change the scenery. My favourite street in Paris is the location for this burger review, I chose the location for 2 reasons. Firstly, I chose the Champs- Élysées in Paris as this is one of the Parisian hearts, the street has everything from the variety and range of high street shops, the places to eat and the Champs-Élysées shows a true image and gives a key idea of the heritage in the city. Secondly, I chose this McDonald’s in particular as it was one of the most extraordinary McDonald’s I have ever eaten at.

August 24th in Paris, it was hot, maybe too hot for my liking. The Champs-Élysées was busy as usual and I felt the need to grab a bite to eat from a place I could trust. I would estimate that 90% of people would therefore eat at McDonald’s. Outside the branch, it was shaped and designed with glass which made it sleek, on entrance the shop was one of the best-designed McDonald’s I had ever seen. A perfect blend of brightly coloured led lights which were complimented with black seating, a mix of neutral colours and a good blend of lighting. Most notably was an extension of hanging lights by the staircase going up to the 2nd floor.

This McDonald’s was particularly special as it was complete with a salad bar and barista style coffee bar. On the right-hand side were more touchscreens than they eye could see, there was no queuing and ordering to the cashier system which struck me. I ordered a double patty Filet-O-Fish, fries and a chocolate KitKat McFlurry, indeed you heard correctly, the McDonald’s serves supersize burgers and chocolate flavoured ice cream. The total came to approximately 15 euros and took around 5 minutes for the meal to be ready. (No faults so far).

The burger bun was soft and the usual taste, the fish patty was cooked well, delicious and complimented nicely with the cheese and tartar sauce. Negative aspects of the burger were the overall size, however the 2nd fish patty made up for this. The fries were thin, soft, salty and delicious, the fries were well complemented with a unique Pommes-Frites sauce only available in Paris. The sauce was creamy, white with a hint of garlic and herb that tasted scrumptious with the burger.

Overall, this was a fantastic experience, the interior of the restaurant was superior to all the McDonald’s outlets I have visited. The food was up to the standards the company has set over they years, moreover and extra star goes towards the double Filet-O-Fish. My only negative comment was the size of the burger which could have been bigger, however I am being slightly picky. Would I come here again? Very likely on every visit I make to the Champs-Élysées.
